Can you believe “Trump has the best talent stack”?

Who would say such a thing? Where do these numbers come from?

“He is smarter than 90% of the world.” “I’ll bet he’s in the top 10% just from practice.”

These, and more declarations of love, are found on the Dilbert blog. Who would have thought that Dilbert is a Trump fan? But that is not the issue in this post. Here, we’ll cover the rhetorical technique of giving numbers to make it appear as if we know what we’re talking about.

Giving numbers without sources to support your argument is:

Technique: “Bewilder your opponent with mere bombast.”, number 36.

Sorry Dilbert, we don’t fall for it.
